A good nanny plays a vital role in the development of a child

Domestic care givers make for a very unique profession on their own! While their job profile does not require the pre-requisite of an overly advanced training procedure, their use of their people skills, compassion toward others and love driven determination to provide care to children, families, and elders is what defines them as individuals and it is precisely what they apply to the homes where they serve as nannies and domestic help.

Nannies are among the most sought after forms of domestic help. Responsible parents would never leave the custody of their child, even on a temporary basis, to the kind of individual that does not seem apt and up to the task.

The degree of role that a nanny plays in bringing up a child is great and it highly affects the overall outlook of the child also as a nanny comes in contact with him in his most formative days.

Before you find nanny jobs, ensure that you possess the following attributes:

  • Be sincere in what you do, do not treat you work as simple and merely a source of livelihood and a way of keeping yourself busy. When someone gives you the responsibility to take care of their child, they are installing all their trust in you and expect you to put in a good effort in conjunction with all your compassion.
  • Know your way through performing the necessary tasks that are required in raising a child. If you are dealing with a toddler, or a small child, you should know how to handle being able to change diapers, clothes, feed them on time and according to their requirements (nutritionally and avoiding foods they are allergic to). Make sure, they sleep on time, wake up on time and manage their play time and study time and make sure they get all the necessary exercise they need as per their age and finally, put in a little extra effort to supervise the fact that they are developing their fine motor skills, manners, etiquettes, communication skills according to their age and growth.
  • Finally, you should approach the family that you are serving using a personal and empathetic approach. Make the parents realize that you are treating their child as he’s your own. If they require any special effort from your side in dealing with the unique needs and temperament of the child, do not hesitate in putting in an extra effort to do so. Make the child feel loved and deal with the issue of developing a good rapport with the child with patience and understanding because it may take time in the initial stages.
